Welcome
to Chelsfield Solar
Solar
photovoltaics, also known as Solar PV, is the name for the technology
that converts light into electricity for domestic, commercial
or industrial use. Solar PV uses the inexhaustible and natural
renewable energy given by the sun to create clean, green electricity.
Experts in Solar since 2002
Chelsfield Solar are one of the pioneers of
PV in the UK, having been designing and installing since 2002,
so you can be assured of our expertise and integrity. You might

Chelsfield Solar offer advice and installation on grid connected
solar photovoltaic systems for domestic, commercial and community
projects. As a fully accredited Solar PV installer, Chelsfield
Solar are highly experienced in these systems covering London,
the Home Counties and South East UK. We are an independent Solar
PV installer and as such we will give you unbiased information
on the most suitable technology available for your project.
'Feed-In
Tariff' - Update
On
1st April 2010 the UK Feed-In Tariff (FIT) was introduced, which
is a government backed incentive to encourage the use of solar
panels to generate electricity.
The FIT rewards you for generating your own
electricity regardless of whether it is used at the time of
generation and you will also be rewarded for electricity you
export back to the National Grid. In addition, you will also
benefit by not importing electricity from your supplier when
you use the PV electricity at the time of generation.
For PV systems installed between 12 December
2011 and 31 March 2012 the FIT rate will be a minimum
of 21p per kWh/unit generated by the PV system for the full
25 year term of the scheme plus 3.1p per kWh/unit for exported
electricity, with most electricity suppliers assuming 50% of
what is generated will be exported.
For systems installed after 01 April 2012
there are proposed changes to the FIT, being the possible introduction
of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for your property,
which will effectively increase the cost of a PV system. So,
if you want to maximise your income don't delay in beating the
April 2012 deadline to benefit from:
• Index-linked, tax-free return of up
to 8.4%.
• Future-proofing against energy price rises.
• Cutting your environmental impact.

'The whole process of the PV project
from our initial first meeting to the final installation,
all aspects of the way in which your company and installation
team has worked has been to the highest of standards.
As an electrical installation engineer myself, I cannot
fault the way in which your install team carried out the
work in the worst of winter weather. We also really appreciated
your constant help given to us during the last year which
helped us win our case in our [church] planning application.'
